Roasted a half batch to city plus and the sweetness really came through, exactly the classic Sidamo profile I hoped for. The 500g bag gave me plenty of room to experiment with my roast levels.
Home roasting these is a whole different experience than buying pre-roasted—the beans arrive deep green and glossy, and the full-bodied sweetness shows up right in the first cup after a medium roast. I’ve done three batches now and the high acidity keeps it lively without being sharp.
Home roasting this Sidamo batch was a joy—the beans are remarkably even and clean, which made the first crack super predictable. The full body came through beautifully in the cup, sweet with that classic high-acid brightness I crave. Already ordered another 500g.
